Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go. This page explains how to delete your Plate account and all associated data. Once deleted, this action cannot be undone.

What Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, we will permanently delete the following information:

• Your account profile and settings
• Your email address and authentication information
• All kitchen inventory data (fridge, freezer, pantry items)
• All saved recipes and recipe preferences
• Your cooking history and activity logs
• Any other personal data associated with your account

Note: This action is permanent and cannot be reversed. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before proceeding.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account in two ways:

Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

1. Open the PLATE app on your device
2. Go to Settings (usually found in your profile menu)
3. Select "Account Settings" or "Privacy Settings"
4. Tap "Delete Account"
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email, please send us an email. We will process your request within 30 days.

Important: You must send the email from the email address associated with your Plate account so we can identify your account.

Request Account Deletion via Email

Click the button below to send us an account deletion request. This will open your email client with a pre-filled message. Simply send the email from the address associated with your Plate account.

Processing Time

Once you submit a deletion request:

• You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours
• Your account will be marked for deletion immediately
• All data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• You can cancel the request within 7 days if you change your mind

Data Retention

Some information may be retained for a limited period for legal or regulatory purposes, including:

• Records required for tax, legal, or regulatory compliance
• Anonymized data used for analytics and service improvement

All personally identifiable information will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your deletion request.
